How can I get a hollowbeast?

Hollowbeasts are now an open species. This means you can create your own using a base, your own artwork, sell and purchase adoptables, etc. Our Facebook group and Discord server are where most adoptables are posted.

Required anatomy for a hollowbeast:

• Skull face/head

• Three (3) toes (feral) on birdlike front feet

  • ​Can be adapted to five (5) fingers on Anthro characters

• Keratin or bony plating on the front of the feet

• Two toes that are hoof-like on the back legs

Optional common anatomy for a hollowbeast:

• Glowing eye pupils that are orbs, vertical slits (cats), or horizontal slits (horses, goats)

• Sections of long hair

• Antlers/horns

• Wisps

• Growth of organic material (plants, fungi, crystalline structures) ​

Optional personal anatomy for a hollowbeast:

• Glowing eye pupils of other shapes

• Genitals/breasts

• Additional antlers/hons

• Additional body growth structures

• Tongue

• Duplicate limbs

• Multiple heads

• Multiple heads

Anatomy that is NOT allowed for a hollowbeast:

• Eyeballs (pupils as listed are fine)

• Paws

• Paw pads

• Eyelids

• Gore (fun fact: hollowbeast don't have organs!)

Other FAQs

​

Do hollowbeasts have to have predator animal skulls? 

• Nope! They can have any kind of skull in their design as long as the overall design falls within required canon.

Can they have mythical / extinct / dinosaur / non-mammal / etc, bases?

• Sure! As with general creation, as long as it falls within established required canon, they can be designed however the artist/creator chooses. There are many things I am not adept at drawing and so the free bases available on the site are not meant to reflect the limitations of what kind of hollows can exist.

Can I join the Facebook group/Discord Server if I don't own a hollowbeast?

• Absolutely! You can join the group for information on when new designs are available for purchase, news or to meet others who take an interest in the species. Posts are approved before posting to keep the group on topic, so please do not create posts that are irrelevant or covered in group rules.

Can I draw/commission NSFW artwork of my hollowbeast?

• As long as you are of the appropriate age.

Can I make a fursuit/costume/etc of my hollowbeast character?

• You can make whatever you like with your hollow. I would love to see the results as well!

Can my hollowbeast be a hybrid with other animals/characters/etc?

• They do not reproduce, and so cannot be hybrid via reproduction. Hollows are created when their spirit takes over the skull of a dead creature; so you can have a wolf-horse-dragon hybrid hollow if that spirit took the skull of the original creature, but not via breeding with hollowbeasts.

Are they capable of having abnormalities like extra limbs, two heads, etc?

• This is not an issue. There are some traits limited to certain subspecies however, such as 4 arms being limited to behemoth hollowbeasts. Please check out the species page for more information.

Can I add something to my hollowbeast if it is not listed in canon, but not against required canon? 

• I encourage creativity as much as possible - if its not against established canon, its probably fine. If you are unsure, you can always reach out in our Facebook group or Discord server. We have many senior members who may know the answer before the species creator (Lux Salem) is online.
