CREATION GUIDELINES & BASES
This page is being updated. These guidelines and bases are for the undead hollows. Guidelines for mortal species can be found under the "mortal subspecies" tab and are specific to each subspecies.
An undead hollow can be made based off of any creature or existing character as long as required canon is followed.
REQUIRED CANON
The follow features are required for your original character to be recognized as a Hollowbeast:

-
Skull head
-
Face / head must be a skull. They do not possess organic / flesh eyeballs, but can have glowing orbs as "eyes."
-
-
Three toes on bird-like front feet, with bare skin past the elbow and keratin plating on forearm and top of toes. They have one curved talon on each toe.
-
Their front feet can be adapted to 4 or 5 fingers in anthro form if desired.
-
-
Two toes on the back feet, consisting of triangular hooves on each toe. The hooves sit on the front of the toe and their feet are "flat footed" unlike a traditional ungulate who stand on top of their hooves. Back feet can also have an optional dewclaw.
-
They DO NOT have paws or paw pads.
-
Commonly have antlers or horns, but not required. In place of horns, hollowbeasts can also grow organic matter like tree branches or plants, or mineral (crystal) formations.
OPTIONAL CANON
The following are established canon features that are optional for character creation.
-
"Wisps" along back (standard on free use templates - they are not required however to have anything special on their back.) They can also "grow" any organic material from their body, most commonly from their back but they can grow them anywhere except their front legs past the elbow.
-
Examples: Plants, fungi, tree branches, flowers
-
Can deposit these organic materials or "plant" the items if they choose, removing these growths does not harm the hollowbeast.
-
Observations of "grown" flowering fruits have been noted, but consumption of these fruits has not been recorded.
-
-
-
They can grow crystals on their body, including their skull.
-
Any part of the body and skull can display bioluminescence (glow).
-
Feathers and general plumage shapes, sizes and colors vary and can be very prominent or just a few.
-
Mimicry of surroundings is one of their defining features, but they have been noted to sometimes "embed" objects they take up fascination with into their bodies.
-
Examples: shiny things, candles, lanterns, scrap metal, crystals, etc.
-
-
Ability to mimic any kind of sound they have heard into vocalizations.

MISC CANON ADD-ONS: Can have tongues of any shape or size (or no tongue), multiple limbs, heads and tails, multiple horns/antlers, and can exist in any timeline or universe. You can create hollows based on video game worlds, your personal D&D campaign, your own universe, prehistoric times, etc, as long as your character falls within canon guidelines - feel free to be as creative as you like!
